Description

Since 2012 members of FOXPOPULI collaborate with ABF (www.abf.se) and were involved in project activities with European Union „Youth in Action” project implementations as well as some Swedish local projects. ABF is Sweden’s largest adult liberal education association. The abbreviation stands for Arbetarnas Bildningsförbund (the Worker’s Educational Association). We also work together with many different EU partners, primarily NGO’s, as well as neighboring countries such as Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Armenia and Georgia.

FOXPOPULI provide among other social activities, training courses for young people (also disadvantaged – from rural areas, early school leavers, from social risk groups) One of the courses is “SEE A Game” (Stimulating European entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial attitudes using games) developed by a number of educational institutions in the European Union. Relevant aspects of entrepreneurial processes are simulated and entrepreneurial attitudes are stimulated. The focus is on entrepreneurial attitudes instead of on an entrepreneurial knowledge base. Knowledge and information are not sufficient to succeed in taking charge of one’s own professional, social and personal life. Often it is the right attitude that makes the difference between failure and success. „SEE A Game” is non-formal learning method where using board games – competitive game MENU and collaborative game FAIR, entrepreneurial processes are simulated and entrepreneurial attitudes are stimulated.

FOXPOPULI started to implement a NORDPLUS project „Social entrepreneurship for change” and the project aims to develop a training course in social entrepreneurship, thereby encouraging adult involvement into non-formal education and helping them to acquire new personal and professional skills for entering the labor market. In addition, the Project will strengthen cooperation among Baltic and Nordic education organizations and experts and especially will focus on inclusion of vulnerable groups (unemployed, elderly, low-skilled). The training course will consist of 6 modules, focusing on the following aspects:

  • The importance of social entrepreneurship today;
  • Creative approaches and solutions for addressing social issues;
  • Challenges and benefits associated with becoming a social entrepreneur;
  • Knowledge, skills necessary to start a social enterprise;
  • The best practices of social enterprises.
  • Sustainable funding strategies exploring the methods of funding social enterprise.
