MENTORTEC SA, with its headquarters in Matosinhos (Portugal), is a company in the business angel and incubation field. The company was founded in 2006 as a spin-off of Inova+.

The main activity of the company is focused on the promotion and creation of new technology based firms (NTBF) mainly in Portugal. This support service covers all stages of the life cycle of new start-ups/spin-offs, from the business idea development to the launching of these start-ups, including the provision of an incubation site, where companies can be implemented and develop their activities.

MENTORTEC assists entrepreneurs during the early stage of the NTBF establishment with relevance during the difficult task of funding acquirement and negotiations with Venture Capital (VC) Organisations.

The company targets early-stage companies with high-growth potential and internationalization capability, investing in some start-up projects and using seed capital as funding to promote their launching. Through this strategy MENTORTEC intends to support the start-ups in the acquisition of the necessary critical mass making them more attractive to the Venture Capital and Private Equity.

Besides the above mentioned financial support, the company assists each start-up individually, through a mentoring/coaching strategy. For each new company/project a coacher is identified and assigned, in order to guide the entrepreneurs in their strategy development, decision-making process, and other domains related with the company’s growth, ensuring a long lasting project.
